Angleton School Chaplains Support Students With Moral & Ethical Choices
Wouldn’t it be great if every school could reap the benefits of a school chaplain? • Chaplains can help young people in trouble turn their lives around. • Chaplains can support young people struggling with their identity to accept who they really are. • Chaplains can guide young people towards making more ethical choices, developing their moral code and sense of purpose.
If this sounds like the kind of help you would like to provide, then a role in school chaplaincy might just be for you. You will need a high sense of ethics, an empathetic approach and a good sense of humor, but the rewards of this job are profound.
The NSCA is now offering its chaplain training program to residents of Angleton, Texas. The training and certification program is intended to get more chaplains in Angleton schools, who can provide holistic care and counseling.
With a focus on moral and ethical well-being, school chaplaincy has proven to dissipate tension and improve the mental health of students. The NSCA is now looking for individuals like you who can provide emotional support, guidance and compassion to students from pre-K to 12th grade. If you're someone with high ethical standards, the NCSA needs you!
The program will equip you with the skills needed to create happier, safer learning environments for students in your care. With training in moral and ethical guidance, you will learn how to offer non-judgemental outlets for students who need someone to turn to.
A spokesperson for the NSCA states: “Conversations with chaplains are private, therefore students are more straightforward and sincere, not having to worry about what goes on their transcript. If something raises a flag, certified chaplains know the proper procedure to advise authorities.”
The NSCA highlights the difference between a school chaplain and a therapist, explaining that chaplains may be able to support students with a spiritual or mental crisis more holistically than medical professionals. “Even in an increasingly secular society, faith in chaplains and their ability to help with personal problems remains strong,” says the NSCA.
School chaplains are often considered ‘non-threatening’ members of staff, whom students can go to develop their own moral and ethical thinking. BY signing up for this training program, you can give students the opportunity to explore who they really are without fear of judgment or discrimination. Recognizing that many young people may be struggling with gender confusion, lack of purpose and hopelessness, you can help to develop student’s resilience in an increasingly challenging world.
So when can you enroll? Angleton residents can sign up online at any time in the year, with a choice of flexible payment methods. The fully accredited school chaplaincy course runs for 8 weeks and is comprised of three safety certifications: active shooter, threat assessment and stop the bleed.
