Feel-Good Southern Fiction Book Release Tour: New North Carolina Signing Dates
Southern fiction is at the heart of the American literary tradition. The mere mention of the genre conjures names such as John Steinbeck, Mark Twain, and William Faulkner. The genre has recently taken on a new life, however, in the contemporary world, and at the forefront of that movement is Kristy Woodson Harvey. Her works have inspired readers across the country with heartfelt tales of love and friendship in the face of loss. Her new novel, "Summer Of Songbirds", is no different, with some early reviews placing it among her best and most earnest works to date. Fans of these books will get the opportunity to meet her during the southern leg of her nationwide book tour, during which time she will be returning to her home state of North Carolina to celebrate the launch of this new novel. Listen on to find out how you can meet Harvey and get a signed copy of "Summer Of Songbirds" this upcoming July.
The upcoming stops on her tour will give you an opportunity not only to meet the author in person but also to support local communities and independent book shops across North Carolina. A full calendar of planned stops, dates, and locations is currently available on the author’s website.
Perhaps the most notable event on this leg of the tour will take place in Beaufort, at which time Kristy Harvey will join fellow author and preservationist Deborah Goodrich-Royce for a literary discussion. The pair will explore Harvey’s influences, and the ways in which the culture and history of North Carolina shaped Harvey’s work in the Southern fiction genre. Gourmet catering will also be available at this event, with associated costs included in the price of the ticket. All proceeds will benefit the Beaufort Historical Site and the local historical preservation society.
Earlier in the tour, on July 15th, Harvey will continue her tradition of returning to her hometown of Salisbury to celebrate the launch of this latest book. As she has done for all her recent launches, Harvey will appear at the South Main Book Company to sign copies of her work and interact with fans.
Her latest novel, “Summer Of Songbirds”, features a powerful story of friendship, shared memories, and of facing uncomfortable truths. In the story, June Moore faces the possibility of losing the summer camp that she has worked her entire life to maintain, all while her past returns in multiple ways to haunt her. From romance to heartbreak, fans of Kristy Harvey’s work will recognize staple themes in this new novel, revitalized with a number of unique twists.
One reviewer stated, “The author of the Peachtree Bluff series brings her signature warmth and Southern charm to this story about four women across generations. Like sweet tea, Woodson Harvey's writing coats your soul with heart.”
Don't miss your chance to hear Harvey speak on all things literary as she visits the areas that inspired it all! Chat with other fans, meet the author, and enjoy engaging with the local literary community at any of her planned events.
