As the property was transitioned into a hotel, the artist and architect Settembrino restored the tenement fixtures and amenities, merging them into the hotel’s retro look.

In 2021, the Blue Moon underwent another restoration, during which the architects repainted the property with soft blues and pale yellows. According to Settenbrino’s apprentice and daughter Ida, this updated colorization was carried out to accentuate various historical aspects of the property, like its Van Gogh-esque ceiling mural, etched marble mantles, and themed wall collages.
