Waskom Accredited School Chaplains Increase Spiritual Care In Public Education
If you’re convicted that public education is in need of a powerful catalyst for positive change, the NSCA can bring a highly trained and accredited chaplain to your school. As a powerful force for good, an NSCA school chaplain can foster resilience, character development, and overall community strength.
The NSCA knows that school chaplaincy is one of the most effective ways to increase spiritual care and emotional wellbeing in public education, which is why they are pleased to now be doing outreach in Waskom and Harrison County. If your school community is one of the many in this region that are limited in their access to mental health support services, to pastoral care and to community support, the National School Chaplain Association highly recommends their accredited chaplains to you.
Following the passing of the Chaplain Bill in June this year, your public school can now choose to employ a full-time school chaplain, and—if your school is interested in supporting your students, teachers and school community in this way—the NSCA advocates for their highly trained, professional, respectful, supportive and empowering chaplains.
As the governing body for school chaplains in the United States and worldwide, the National School Chaplain Association only accepts the highest caliber of applicants into their intensive training program, which is run in conjunction with Oral Roberts University, a leading private Christian university in Oklahoma.
Additionally, as the only officially recognized chaplaincy organization in the State of Texas, if the NSCA installs one of their chaplains in your school, they will also welcome your school into their extensive support system, creating a network that enhances the overall effectiveness of their chaplaincy services.
As one of their spokespersons summarized, the National School Chaplain Association provides:
“confidential support for all teachers, staff, and students, a national standard for school chaplaincy qualifications, branded uniform for professional environments, seamless integration of chaplains into schools, relationship-driven certified professionals, continued education training and support, and a national school chaplain registry.”
Above all, the National School Chaplain Association believes that in a time of discord, loneliness and anxiety, chaplains can provide uplifting and inspiring spiritual care and guidance that can help your students, teachers and school community alike by promoting emotional wellbeing, character development, and more.
If you are a school district head, school principal, teacher, support staff member, or a parent or community member, you can lobby to have an NSCA chaplain installed in your school.
The association’s spokesperson added, “Hiring a chaplain at your school directly impacts the lives of students, staff, educators, and communities through increased school safety, better teacher retention, and enhanced mental health support.”
Hiring a chaplain through the NSCA is making a direct investment in the wellbeing and spiritual future of your school community.
